Glynn Turman is 2008 PrimeTime Emmy Award Winner, and the recipient of 3 NAACP Image Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award for Theatre, The Sidney Poitier Lifelong Achievement Award, the 2010 & 2013 Ovation Award winner for Outstanding Lead Actor and a Western Heritage Museum inductee. At the tender age of twelve he started his career in the legendary Lorraine Hansberry’s landmark Broadway production of “A Raisin in the Sun” as 'Travis' with Sidney Poitier and Ruby Dee.  This charmed beginning led him to pursue his dreams.  He studied drama at the famed High School of the Performing Arts in New York.  This proved to be the beginning of a long love affair with the critics. 

GLYNN TURMAN

Glynn is also a Director and Producer and has had several leading roles in film and television including the popular 'A Different World, 'The Wire' and the cult classic 'Cooley High'. Glynn was recently seen co-starring for five seasons on the Showtime hit series "House of Lies" as well as on ABC's hit 'How to Get Away With Murder'.  He is also being praised for his portrayal of Ernest Bordelon on the OWN hit series 'Queen Sugar'.  Glynn has several upcoming TV guest appearances and a couple of new feature films including from the Transformers Franchise 'Bumblebee' and 'Sextuplets'. A rodeo champion and horseman, Glynn & wife Jo-An are the co-founders of a non-profit the IX Winds Ranch 'Camp Gid D Up'. Glynn proves you can be a successful director, producer, father, husband, humanitarian, accomplished actor, camp director, writer & a cowboy.
